How To Layer Your Dr. Loretta Serums

All of our Dr. Loretta serums are formulated with powerhouse active ingredients to help with the appearance of lines and wrinkles, dryness and uneven skin tone. They also feature hydrating and calming ingredients, too, making them all gentle enough to use in your daily routine! Here’s how.

Layering.

Our rule for laying serums - always go from thinnest to thickest! This rule-of-thumb goes for the other products in your skincare routine too. For example, you should always apply your serums first followed by your moisturizers then sunscreen in the morning.

Our Anti-Aging Repair Serum is our most lightweight serum so we always recommend applying this first followed by Concentrated Firming Serum and ending with Intense Replenishing Serum.

The Serum Cocktail.

Is layering one serum at a time too much? Try cocktailing! Simply apply a couple drops of each serum to the back of your hand, mix together and massage in for a trifecta of hydrating, anti-aging and brightening benefits.

No need to be afraid of cocktailing our vitamin C and retinol serums! Watch this video to hear why our vitamin C and retinol are safe to use together from our VP of Brand and youngest daughter of Dr. Loretta, Liza Rose Ciraldo.

The Sensitive Skin Duo.

For sensitive skin we recommend pairing Intense Replenishing Serum for deep hydration, with Anti-Aging Repair Serum. While vitamin C can be irritating to some, our formulation features tetrahexyldexyl ascorbate at an optimal lower percentage making it highly effective yet gentle for skin.

The Differences.

Not sure what the difference is between each of our Dr. Loretta serums? Learn more with our helpful guide below!

  • Paired with organic lilac stem cells to help balance oily skin.

  • Plumps, smooths and instantly restores silky texture.
  • Chromabright® visibly brightens uneven skin tone and protects from HEV blue light.

  • The rich, silky texture makes this serum perfect for all skin types especially dry and dehydrated skin.

Concentrated Firming Serum

  • Features 0.5% retinol to visibly improve loss of firmness and reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.
  • Reduces retinol irritation with a boost of hydrating lipids.
  • Provides the moisture your skin craves while reducing the appearance of pores and wrinkles.
  • Never apply to red, peeling or irritated skin.
  • If you're new to retinol, start by applying in the evening for the first two weeks then twice a day if well tolerated. Always use SPF in the morning!
